How long do concerts last? About 50 minutes.
What’s the difference between a Symphony Kids and Young Persons’ concert? – The Symphony Kids concert targets a younger audience (Pre-K through grade 3); The Young Persons’ concert is designed for a slightly older audience (grades 4-8).
How do I buy tickets? – Reservations may be made online by visiting ssokids.org, or by calling 424-8222, ext. 272. Physical tickets are not generated, but reservations are confirmed via e-mail and/or regular mail.
How much does it cost? – Symphony Kids and Young Persons’ concerts are $5.00 per student or chaperone. The Nutcracker is $11.00 per person.
Do you offer group discounts? – No, but larger groups are offered one free chaperone admission for every 15 paid student admissions for Symphony Kids and Young Persons’ concerts (sorry, no free chaperones for The Nutcracker performance).
How do I prepare my class for the concert experience? – Classroom materials are made available through the ssokids.org website. Teachers and homeschool parents/teachers may download and print materials directly from their home or school computers. Hard copies are available through the SSO office by calling 424-8222, ext. 272.
How do I pay for my reservations? – The SSO accepts credit cards, personal checks, school funds/PTSA checks and BOCES Arts-in-Ed funds. Schools/teachers desiring to use BOCES funds should contact their respective BOCES Arts-in-Ed coordinator regarding procedures in their particular county.
