  • Recycling Winds – What kinds of sounds could you make from the stuff in your recycling bin? Find out as the SSO’s Wind Quintet II takes to the stage with a bin full of tricks and some interesting acoustical science to boot! You’ll never look at a garden hose the same way.

  • Powerful Percussion! – The SSO Percussion Ensemble will dazzle the audience as they make use of over 3 dozen instruments that are hit, scraped, plucked and otherwise whacked to make beautiful and exciting music!

Monday, May 3, 2010 – 10:00 and 11:30 a.m.
Crouse-Hinds Concert Theater

  • America’s Music: 200 Years of Finding Our Own Voice – This concert features music by some of America’s best known and most loved composers. It includes an excerpt from Billy the Kid by Aaron Copland, the Overture to Candide by Leonard Bernstein and South Rampart Street Parade arranged by our own Calvin Custer along with music of John Williams, John Philip Sousa and others.
