Explore the Season
I am delighted to present to you the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra's 2010-2011 50th Anniversary Season. I’m happy that you’ve made us a part of your cultural and entertainment activities and hope that you will join us as we celebrate our Golden Anniversary milestone!
Our mission is to inspire, engage and educate, bringing high quality music-making to Syracuse and Central New York. To celebrate 50 years of performing great music across New York State, I have programmed a season that highlights the traditions of the past, and also propels us into the future, serving all corners of our community. To that end, we will welcome back former conductors including Kazuyoshi Akiyama and Fabio Mechetti; perform works from important moments in our history, such as Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4, which was performed on our inaugural concert; and bring you innovative programs such as Beyond the Score, guest artists including Michael Feinstein and special events including a return performance by Yo-Yo Ma.
Because we truly have something for everyone, and it is important to me that everyone can afford to attend SSO concerts, I am thrilled to tell you that in the coming season, we are offering lower ticket prices so that everyone in the community can experience the best in live music. With our new prices, 65% of our tickets will be $25 or lower for most concerts.
Hope to see you at a concert!
