The John H. Mulroy Civic Center

Patrons often ask us where the best seats can be found in the 2,100-seat Crouse-Hinds Concert Theater. We’re always happy to explain that there isn’t a bad seat in the house. When the theater was built in the 1970’s, Christopher Keene, the SSO music director at the time, donned his hardhat and made sure that hall was built to provide the optimal concert-going experience for everyone in the Syracuse community. As a result, the acoustics and the view of the stage are excellent throughout this modern space.

Most Holy Rosary Church

Most Holy Rosary Church, located in Syracuse’s historic Strathmore neighborhood, is a warm, intimate setting for the SSO’s Sunday afternoon chamber music performances. The orchestra performs works by Bach, Vivaldi, Haydn and other early composers, and showcases the talents of guest artists and choral groups in the quiet splendor of this unique space.

Directions: From I-690 West or Erie Boulevard east or west, proceed south on Geddes Street. Near the top of the hill, turn left on Bellevue and then right on Roberts Avenue. Parking is available in the rear parking lot as well as on both sides of Roberts Avenue and adjoining streets. Please be mindful of residents' driveways.

Cortland High School

High on a hill in Cortland, the auditorium at Cortland High School is large enough to hold a crowd, but has an air of intimacy, as well. Pre-concert talks are held in the school lobby prior to performances and the Cortland High School Music Boosters offer refreshments during intermission.

Directions: Cortland High School is on Valley View Drive, up the hill on Pendleton Street from Port Watson Street (Route 41). Ample parking is available in front of the school.

Rome Free Academy

The SSO’s Rome Series is held in a spacious, state-of-the-art theater at the newly built school. From the moment you step into the gleaming, marble-tiled lobby, you’ll sense the excitement that is an evening of music with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra.

Directions: Off of Black River Boulevard, take East Chestnut Street towards Griffiss Technology Park. Once in the Park, Rome Free Academy is approximately two miles in on the right at 95 Dart Circle.

Dulles State Office Building, Watertown

People come from across the Canadian border just to hear the SSO perform in Watertown. The theater is built with graded seating, so that tall hats and hair will never interfere with your view. During intermission, check out the turtles in the lobby’s pond!

Directions: The State Office Building is two blocks from the downtown circle on Washington Street. Street parking is available on both sides of Washington Street. Garage parking with a bridge to the State Office Building is also available on concert nights.
